November

Writing tonight from a lovely Saturday evening, at our new large dining table, listening to the crickets and frogs (and my daughter singing Christmas carols from upstairs). A really interesting, and truthfully unexpected, design aspect of my new space has to do with the low sofas along the windows. I really love the idea of a screened in porch but didn't want to actually add one to the house in fear of losing a lot of natural light. So…I put as much seating in close proximity as I could in hopes it would be a nice alternative. Even more than I anticipated, you can sit with the windows opened full, dim the lights and feel as though you are sitting outside. So now you’ll know where to find me through much of the holiday season, unless I’m in the new kitchen, of course!

On that note..the kitchen is complete! I can’t wait to have it photographed as my iPhone pics don’t do it justice. I am trying to note all of the elements I thought through during the process…lighting, colors, appliance selection, countertops… in the meantime I’m happy to answer any particular questions you have!

Our November For the Love of Food Newsletter goes out this week and we’ve put together another intimate dinner party menu, as well as a great post Thanksgiving cozy lunch. I’m so excited to share it with you!
